Naples 2500

Proposal for the Naples 2500 international design competition, celebrating the 2,500th anniversary of the city’s foundation. The project includes a visual identity system, symbolic illustrations and communication applications.

The Starting Point

How can 2,500 years of history be represented through a contemporary visual identity? The challenge was to create a flexible system capable of communicating Naples through a small number of symbolic elements.

Concept

The identity is built around five archetypes that represent different aspects of Naples: Partenope, the Sailor, the Volcano, the Guardian and the Sun. Each symbol can work independently while contributing to a coherent visual system adaptable to different communication formats.

Applications

Visual Identity System The proposal includes a logo, a family of symbolic illustrations and applications across editorial materials, posters, urban signage and promotional products.
